DRIVEN BY passion FUELED BY DATA

WOMEN’S ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT IS CENTRAL TO WOMEN’S RIGHTS AND GENDER EQUALITY.

DATA PIECES IT ALL TOGETHER.

Research allows us to gain valuable insights into the challenges faced by women in various economic sectors, be it access to education, job opportunities or fair wages.

By understanding the barriers and limitations that women encounter, we can develop targeted strategies to address these issues and create a level playing field.

In January 2024 Southern Capital Project conducted an online focus group of small business owners who have been in business for six years or less from Kansas City, Missouri, and Little Rock, Arkansas.

SOUTHERN CAPITAL PROJECT RESEARCH

Southern Capital Project Research provided small business owners an opportunity to share their stories and experiences of starting and growing their businesses. The study, focused on entrepreneurs from Kansas City, Missouri, and Little Rock, Arkansas, aimed to examine the challenges and opportunities faced during the early years of business ventures.

The research study sought to explore the support received from local communities, including families, communities, and government entities, and how it impacted the success of small businesses. By gathering insights and feedback from participants, the study aimed to identify areas where support could be improved and highlight the importance of fostering an environment that encourages and aids small business growth.

Upon completion of the research, the findings will be shared with local small business support organizations, government officials, and others within the community. The goal of this is to help create awareness and initiate conversations about enhancing support systems for entrepreneurs, fostering a more equitable and supportive environment for small businesses to thrive.
